Post subject:  First Build - clear coat

Hello - I'm new here and a newer guitar player...still learning! I decided to try a guitar kit (Telecaster style) Christmas gift to myself. After much searching and you tube watching I decided to use minwax stain, followed by Tru Oil. I assume my next step(s) would be to add some kind of clear coat after about 10-12 coats of Tru Oil. I'm on coat #3 of the oil. Question: what recommendations might you all have with regard to the clear coat? Poly...lacquer....? Spray or brush on? Thoughts?

Thanks!

No clear coat needed over TruOil.

10 to 12 coats of TruOil should be plenty.
